close up
I decided to pick the theme of close up as I haven't done anything like this before and I think that I can do a variation of objects.
I started by going outside and taken pictures of what I think close up is and how I perceive it as.
I started by going outside and taken pictures of what I think close up is and how I perceive it as.
I think this is the best photograph because;
WWW: It focuses on the leaf and the tree and blurs the background and really emphasizes the textures of the objects in focus. EBI: The camera was higher so the leaves didn't look so cropped. |
I changed the picture to black and white to see how it compares to the original photograph. I think that the black and white picture shows the textures and detail in more depth |
I also used Photoshop to change the colour of the picture by using colour balance to make the pictures look more defined and to show the textures and focuses on the bark of the tree more than the black&white photograph did.
My First Final Photograph
Dust
Man Ray/Marcel Duchamp - Dust Breeding
Marcel Duchamp The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even (The Large Glass)
|
This image shows a piece of artwork that has gathered a year's worth of dust on it and has been photographed using a two-hour-long exposure.
I thought that the dust was part of the pattern of the artwork. I also though it looked like a farm used for harvest and that the dust was flock of sheep.
This image is interesting because it can be interpreted in different ways and someone looking at the pictures will probably not know that it is dust. This is the artwork that is covered in dust above. It is about the relationship between men and women as the top bit is a representation the bride and at the bottom it represents bachelors. Duchamp included the dust in the surface of the finished piece. The picture was put in between two pieces of glass |
Gabriel Orozco
Gabriel Orozco is a Moroccan artist who made his work by collecting dust from the back of a wash machine in a Manhattan launderette after 9/11 where fragments of clothing, dirt had gathered inside the industrial machines. The dust was flattened to look like clothing and was displayed on a washing line as the pictures above show.
Darkroom Experiment - photograms of dust
When I was doing this experiment I was trying to make the dust look different and for it to not look like dust. i placed different sized pieces of dust randomly on the photographic paper.
Evaluation
What I learned from the the experiment is that the dust looks slightly like galaxies and stars. This is because of the exposure to the dust made it look light and the little particles that fell of the dust looks like stars.
My Second Final Piece
Photo Shoot
I used a micro lens to take very close up pictures of the dust, I did this because it shows a very detailed it . for the first few pictures I didn't use lighting and it did not show the dust properly.
Editing
I used Photoshop to edit the picture by making Negative, Black and white and Threshold photographs
